You can choose from a relaxing meal at a delightful country pub or select something special at one of our world class and nationally renowned restaurants and bistros. The Eagle & Child

This very popular pub is definitely worth a visit if you want a great selection of excellent traditional pub food, ales and wine. It has won numerous accolades over the years including the Lancashire Dining Pub of the year in the Good Pub Guide in 1999, 2001, 2005 and 2006,2012. With the farm shop next door, the kitchen uses local produce and some of their own meat grown on the farm in Parbold.  In the summer there is a large garden at the back with a well tended but unconventional bowling green, a games lawn and wildlife area.

The Red Lion

This local watering hole in the centre of Mawdesley is a contemporary styled pub and restaurant. They serve delicious, home-made food and have a superbly stocked bar. They are very family friendly and dogs are welcome in the bar area. The Red Lion prides itself on sourcing its food from local producers, and only the finest ingredients are used to prepare their meals. They often have entertainment on in the evening and hold regular theme nights such as steak and curry nights, quiz and poker nights etc.

Alexander’s Brasserie, The Rufford Arms

This restaurant offers a luxurious cosmopolitan feel that could be found in any major city. It offers delicious modern English & Mediterranean food from locally sourced ingredients. The weekends tend to be very busy so they do recommend booking in advance.

The Corner House

This very popular restaurant has been awarded a ‘Trip Adviser Certificate of Excellence” every year since the new owners took it over in 2012 with their passion for good food and friendly service. All dishes are freshly prepared using only the finest ingredients from the best local suppliers. Their menus change frequently as they use only seasonal products when they are at their best.

The White Lion

This pub is known for their good fry ups every morning which they serve from 10am. They also cater for a quick bite or a leisurely lunch through to their evening meals. They serve up fresh quality produce all day every day and they have a specials board that changes weekly and their weekly themed nights are a favorite.

The High Moor

This restaurant has an enviable reputation for superb food, outstanding wines and genuine hospitality. They are an old fashioned restaurant in design but new and modern in their dishes and menus. Whether you want a set menu, a leisurely a-la-carte meal or a traditional Sunday lunch you will find it at The High Moor.

The Rigbye Arms

Here they offer delicious top quality pub food and real traditional cask ales. They have an extensive menu including a constantly updated daily special’s board. Outside there is a large beer garden and a bowling green which is available for hire. The Feather and Fin restaurant section serves the finest quality fresh fish and local game.

This quintessential English gastro pub serves up excellent food sourced from local sustainable produce. They serve lunches and evening meals and even have a gluten free menu. It is the perfect place to relax and unwind and enjoy the attentive service.

This is a traditional good country pub offering a friendly welcome, great food, and delicious beer and wine. They have an a la carte, light bites and kid’s menu plus a daily special’s menu. They often have entertainment on in the evenings and is well worth booking in advance to ensure a table.
